Coming up in late September I'll be attending the Rose City Comicon in Portland, Oregon in September where I'll be working with a Christian organization called GameChurch.

GameChurch is a non-profit organization that goes to various comicons and nerd conventions, they setup a booth and hand out the Gospel of St. John that has been repacked into a "gamer" bible and tell folks who come to the booth that Jesus loves them. They also hand out free GameChurch swag, and sell t-shirts.

The goal of the ministry is to reach the gamer/cosplay/sci-fi demographics who otherwise feel alienated by the church and feel like they don’t fit in to the typical "Sunday morning" church crowd. We bring the Gospel to them and simply tell that Jesus loves them, and that’s it. If you're a gamer at Intel and/or just interested in learning more about GameChuch & my missions trip, I've posted some links to the info below.

My official fundraiser page: http://fund.gamechurch.com/campaigns/view/michaels-rose-city-comicon-gamer-missions-trip.html - my goal is to raise $1000, I am currently at $260 - money raised goes to paying for the cost of the booth, printing gamer bibles, tshirts, and giveaway swag. This page also has more of a background about myself, GameChurch and the gaming industry. The comicon is September 20th and 21st (I am having a bit of trouble dialing in the date on that page, should read 30 days not 72)

My "Gamer Missions Trip" facebook support page (has public photos) - feel free to "Like" http://www.facebook.com/michaelsrosecitycomicongamermissionstrip

Here’s the GameChurch website, “what we do” page: http://gamechurch.com/what-we-do/

If you can support me through prayer, please pray God will give me the right words to speak to folks when I’m there working the GameChurch booth. If you can support me financially, go for it!

God bless,

spY :D

Very awesome stuff! I am apart of GameChurch and ToJ.cc. I was looking for the longest time for UT people from GC, but I could never find anyone. If you see Mike Perna, give him a hug for me. He was my old Bible study teacher who is very active in GC and I think he will be attending if I'm not mistaken. I will spread the word to some of my other Christian gaming pals.
